Academic Profile

Professor ‘Demola Jolayemi is a German trained Professor of English and Digitised Linguistics. He started his university teaching in 1995 in the Department of Modern European Languages, now known as the Department of English of the University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria; where he obtained his first PhD in English Language.

He has also had opportunities to lecture in the Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, Nigeria, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria, and Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, also in Ondo State. He also taught courses in Acoustic Phonetics and Literary Poetics in the University of Technology, Chemnitz, Germany, where he obtained his second PhD in English Linguistics, which ended in cum laude.

The global space is insatiable of search and research for the betterment of the space for the humans, animals, plants, and other inhabitants of the ecosystem.

This PG School offers its elastic capacity to play a major role in investigating, through academic activities, alternatives to meritorious and progressive living.

Professor ‘Demola Jolayemi has applied his skills in English Phonetics and Phonology to speech training for stage, film, and broadcasting, and continues to contribute significantly to academic research and postgraduate education.

The Postgraduate School of the University of Africa, Toru-Orua is making its debut admission into various programmes as stated below to train postgraduate persons for the civil service, higher institutions, and research. This is to give opportunities to Nigerians and other people across the world to achieve their dreams of a postgraduate experience to be able to contribute more meaningfully into their chosen careers.
The PG School, thus, heartily welcomes interested and qualified persons for admission into our Postgraduate Diplomas (PGD), Master in Business (MBA), Arts (MA), Education (MEd), and Science (MSc). Qualified persons are also welcome to apply into the various specialities of our Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programmes.
The PG School runs both the Full and Part-Time programmes:
(1) PGD: Full-Time: Minimum of Two and a Maximum of Four Semesters; Part-Time: Minimum of Four and a Maximum of Six Semesters.
(3) MA/MEd/MSc: Full-Time Minimum of Three and a Maximum of Six semesters; and Part-Time, Minimum of Four and a Maximum of Eight Semesters.
(4) PhD: Minimum of Four and a Maximum of Ten Semesters, Part-Time for a Minimum of Six and a Maximum of Fourteen Semesters.

Department of Theatre and Film Studies: Directing, Playwriting, Theatre in Education, Theatre and Cultural Administration, Media Arts Studies, Theatre Technology, Theatre Tourism, Film Studies, Acting, Theatre History, Dramatic Theory and Criticism, Sociology of Drama, Public Relations, Dance/Choreography, Musicology/Theatrical Musicology, African Musicology/Music Performance, Theatre for Development, and Costumes/Make-Up
2. Department of Educational Management: Educational Administration and Planning, Economics of Education, and Administration of Higher Education, and Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE).
3. Department of Chemical Sciences:Nutrition & Toxicology, Environmental Biochemistry, Medical Biochemistry, Brewery Technology, Molecular Biology, and Molecular/Medicinal Phytochemistry, etc.
4. Department of Biological Sciences: Genetics and Biotechnology, Plant Physiology, Ecology, Anatomy, Mycology/Plant Pathology, and Phytomedicine /Ethnomedicine, Ecology and Environmental Biology, Entomology/Pest Management, Fisheries and Hydrobiology, Microbial Biotechnology, Medical /Pathogenic Microbiology, Environmental Microbiology, Food/Industrial Microbiology, etc.
